Abandoned 'Baby Sam' Now Graduating

Nick Young, 22, with his mom, Dorothy
What look like little more than chickenpox scars on Nick Young's face are the physical reminders of the way his life began.

It was a story that spread across the country, a newborn baby, umbilical cord still attached, left to die in a Martin County orange grove, near an anthill.

Miraculously found by a passerby, covered with ant bites, rushed to Martin Memorial Medical Center, given the name 'Sam'.

Born at 6 pounds, 5 ounces, Baby Sam was only six weeks old when he came to live with Carl and Dorothy Young, a Riviera Beach foster family.

At the age of 2, the Young family adopted Sam and chose to name him, Nicholas Emmanuel, which means "God with us."

On Saturday, Nicholas Emmanuel will walk across the stage as a graduate of Florida A&M.

Congratulations Nicholas, may God shower His blessings upon you, your mom, dad and sister.  May He continue to direct your life and may you lean on Him for support throughout the coming years.
