At GroceryGeek.com, Christy Pooschke shows consumers how to reduce their reliance on processed food.

Christy's passion for eating Real Food began in 2007 when, through dieting and lifestyle changes, she eliminated her fibromyalgia symptoms.  Before this time, her diet consisted of boxed dinners, soda, candy and fast food.

Christy has been on a mission to inform people of the dangers of unhealthy eating.  She also has a non-profit website, called, Completely Nourished, where she educates us all on the benefits of natural foods, natural health and natural living.

On the video above, Christy explains and shows you the process in making your own Dairy Free Banana Pumpkin Spice Ice Cream, ingredients and directions are below, as well.

Dairy Free Banana Pumpkin Spice Ice Cream
2 frozen bananas, chopped into 1-inch slices (peel and freeze at least on day in advance)
1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice*
1/4 - 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Place the chopped bananas into a food processor, and process on high speed until a crumbly consistency is achieved.
Remove lid, scrape down the sides and sprinkle in the pumkin pie spice.
Process on high (scraping the sides, as needed) until the banana crumbles come together to form one large mass and the texture resembles ice cream.
Transfer the mixture to bowls, sprinkle with walnuts (optional).

Serves: 1-2

*Pumpkin pie spice is a blend of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves.  Be sure to read the ingredients list on the package or container to verify that it doesn't contain any additives.
